What's happening in Somerset schools?

'The digital leaders initiative has been fantastic for the children and adults at North Petherton!  They have taken on roles of trialling software, now being released across the whole school.  They have done presentations to staff and the Head and also been troubleshooting the introduction of iPads, new computers and assembly equipment.  The group are very motivated and enjoy their DL club each week after school.  Their next project is to create a prospectus video for the Head, all about the school. There are now 15 in the team, with more wanting to join.  We recently did our first Skype chat with a group of DL’s from Leeds and shared best practices and ideas!'

'We are helping our classes learn about how to be safe online. We meet every other week on Thursday lunchtimes, and have tasks to do with our classes such as completing our e-safety survey. Our next task is to plan an assembly about cyberbullying, and we are going to plan our projects for next year too. We are also going to start a blog so we can share what we're doing with parents.'
